InDesign Shorts: Tip #3 – The Eyedropper Tool (Your Secret Weapon)

Hey there! This week’s InDesign Short is super short, but it’s something that I consistently see being underutilized: the eyedropper tool!

You’ve probably used the eyedropper tool to match colors in your document. You might have even used it to create a color palette from a photo. But did you know you can use the eyedropper tool on text as well? You can! It will format both the color and the font selection (typography and size), though it doesn’t always carry through settings for all caps, strikethrough, or underline (and I’m not sure why).

Go forth and use the eyedropper tool to easily carry through consistency in all parts of your proposal, from headers to bullets, and all the elements in between.
